IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING POOL LINER INSTALLATIONS
HYDROSTATIC LIFT
Hydrostatic lift refers to the process by which the earth’s soil ejects objects such as pebbles and stones. Spot patching the pool bottom is included in every liner installation. However, spot patching cannot prevent pebbles from pushing up through the soil and underneath the new pool liner due to hydrostatic lift. The only way that your installer can warrant against pebbles under the liner after installation is if a new poolkrete pool bottom is installed prior to installing the new liner. Our experience tells us that approximately 10% of the pool liners we install without new pool bottoms will experience pebbles or stones under the liner due to hydrostatic lift. Installers only warrants against pebbles and stones under the liner if a new pool bottom has been installed at the time of the liner installation. Please keep this in mind during your purchasing decision because our goal is to be up front and honest from the start in order to foster a long-term business relationship with our clients. Hydrostatic Lift or Ground Water can also cause liners to lift or “float”. Installers are not responsible for movement/shifting or damages to pool liners caused by ground water.
POTHOLES
The term “Pothole” is used to describe an indention in the pool bottom which looks like a pothole you might see in the roadway. Potholes are the result of the pool bottom collapsing in on a preexisting void or air pocket underneath the hard surface of the pool bottom. It is not possible to see these voids or air pockets during the pool liner installation process. Approximately 5% of the pool liners we install experience potholes which usually become visible within a few days after the installation of the new liner. As a courtesy to our customers, your liner installer will provide free labor to repair potholes, but installers do not accept responsibility for water loss due to potholes.
LEAKS AFTER INSTALLATION
In the event that the pool is leaking after your contractor has installed a pool liner, the leak must be reported to your contractor within one week of the completion date. After reporting the leak to your contractor, you, the customer, must call a leak detection company of your choice to identify the specific location of the leak. Your contractor may suggest leak detection companies in your area, but you are free to hire whichever leak detection company you choose. However, the customer is free to choose whichever leak detection company they prefer. If the leak detection company finds the leak to be in the liner, then the contractor will pay for the leak detection service. If the leak detection company finds the leak to be something other than the liner, such as plumbing, light niche, equipment, etc. then the customer will be responsible for leak detection fees.
WARRANTY
Ask your sales rep for warranty details. All warranties only cover seam separation. No liner warranty, regardless of where you buy it, will cover liner color fading, wrinkles, punctures, or anything other than seam separation. If a seam separation occurs, the manufacturer will cover a prorated replacement cost of the liner itself AND pay $500 towards the water loss and labor to install the new liner. The client is responsible for water and labor costs over this $500 manufacturer’s allowance. The PoolLiner.ai Quality of Installation Warranty covers “liner tucks” for 90 days for when the liner comes out of the liner track under the coping. After 90 DAYS, there will be a charge for liner tucks. Currently, the fee for liner tucks is $95, but this fee is subject to change over time. As a courtesy, we have uploaded a video to YouTube showing you how to tuck a liner in on your own. After one year, seam separation claims must be made directly to the manufacturer (contact info on warranty card).
GUARANTEE AGAINST WRINKLES
If there are observable wrinkles in the liner at the completion of installation, you will receive $100 OFF the liner installation. This guarantee does not apply to vinyl over steps, step corners, tanning ledges, or benches. Contractors/Installers do not warrant wrinkles which appear after the day of installation for any reason.
POTENTIAL FOR ADDITIONAL FEES
Contractors/Installers may find that additional work should be performed after the job begins to ensure high quality results. If additional work requiring additional fees is necessary, your contractor's job rep will give you the opportunity to view the issue in question (i.e. groundwater, rough pool bottom, skimmer issues, mud/debris removal, etc.) and offer a price to perform the additional work. Contractors/Installers will not charge additional fees without your consent. However, please understand that additional fees for additional work are common and may occur on your project. We are committed to maintaining high integrity in all that we do.
DOUBLE CHECK YOUR LINER DESIGN
At the time of signing…please take a moment to confirm your liner design choice listed on page 1 of the liner agreement before signing the agreement. This is the liner design that your liner will be manufactured in. If Contractors/Installers deliver a liner in a different design than the design listed in paragraph one of page one of the agreement, you will receive your choice of either a $1000 discount or a new liner in the correct design. It is important to check that the liner design is correct during installation because the contractors/installers will not cover water loss or any other fees/expenses associated with installing another liner in the correct design. The customer is responsible for checking for the correct liner design before the water fill begins. If Contractors/Installers deliver the liner in the design listed in paragraph one of the agreement, Contractors/Installers accept no liability for misunderstandings or miscommunications in the sales process. For this reason, it is very important that the liner design listed on the agreement is the liner design you want in your pool.
POOL LIGHTS, STEPS AND BEAUTY STRIPS
Under no circumstances do Contractors/Installers accept responsibility for non-functioning pool lights. Even if the pool light was working prior to the liner installation, Contractors/Installers do not accept responsibility for non-functioning pool lights. Contractors/Installers recommend replacement of pool steps over 20 years old. Under no circumstances do Contractors/Installers accept responsibility for leaking pool steps or leaking beauty strips on pool steps which were not sold to you by a poolliner.ai contractor/installer. Pool light, pool step, and pool step beauty strip repair, under all circumstances, will be the responsibility of the pool owner.
STAIN BARRIER
Mold growing under your liner can cause ugly stains on your new liner. Stain Barrier is a product proven to prevent mold growth under your liner. However, it is important to understand that this product is not guaranteed to prevent all mold growth. This product is highly effective but not guaranteed.
